More about data control:
PCB production is limited by processes and machinery; these limits are also referred to as "design rules". A design rule check is carried out when the circuit layout is created. During the data check, the customer's information is checked for completeness and production-relevant PCB manufacturing rules. Some preparatory measures are checked, such as the optimization of milling paths and drilling sequences, the addition of etching allowances to traces or general plausibility checks such as gaps in the contour. In the event of any ambiguities, the customer is contacted to clarify any remaining questions.

Data preparation includes CAM processing and work plan creation. In CAM processing, the production-ready data is linked with machine data. One application in the program is the linking of drilling and milling data with fitting holes and the associated conversion into machine formats. The work plan creation contains all the necessary information about materials, layer structure, quantities, deadlines, provision of films, film plotting and work steps in production.

The components of mechanical processing are parceling, drilling and deburring, as well as milling, scribing and laser cutting of contours.

The blanks are stacked on top of each other, drilled on two sides and fixed in place with pins. Stacking makes it possible to drill several blanks at the same time during one drilling process - this is done precisely and gently using modern impact shears and CNC-controlled technology.
The components of mechanical processing are stacking, drilling and deburring. When drilling the stacked PCB blanks, a distinction is made between drilling through holes, blind holes and buried holes. In general, the PCB blanks are fixed on a drilling machine and the drilling program is run.
Suitable drilling machines automatically adapt to your requirements - the drill hole diameter, speed and rotational speed are precisely controlled. The result: clean, precisely positioned drill holes - the basis for maximum functionality.

The roughened copper surface is covered with a UV light-sensitive photographic film. The plotted film is aligned to the drill pattern and exposed or fed to the LDI process. As a result of the exposure, the photoresist hardens in the exposed areas and the copper is exposed in unexposed areas during development.

The electroplating process is the application of an electroplated copper layer (pattern or panel plating). The PCB is energized for a certain cycle time and an electroplated copper layer builds up in a hole.

A short tin is applied to areas where the copper conductive layer has been exposed, which protects the copper conductive layer of the conductive pattern during the subsequent etching process.

Electroplating is carried out by our selected manufacturing partners. They have a high level of process capability and reliability to ensure that the tinning is carried out precisely, evenly and reliably - always with the aim of ensuring maximum reliability in PCB production. Our partners have decades of process experience and are all specialists in their field. The etching process involves the removal of excess copper. The printed circuit board passes through an etching solution and the excess copper layer is etched off.

The so-called stripping process - i.e. the removal of the metal resist - is carried out using a specially formulated solution of hydrochloric and nitric acid. This reliably removes the short tin so that the printed circuit board is now ready for use in its electrical function for the first time.

The protective lacquer - also known as solder resist - is applied specifically to those areas of the PCB where solder should not adhere. This reliably prevents the formation of unwanted tin bridges and contributes to electrical functional safety.

In certain cases, there are technical specifications regarding the solder resist thickness - these are specified by us and taken into account in production.

Depending on the requirements and production batch size, it may be necessary to carry out a control polish on representative PCBs to verify compliance with these specifications. Our partners carefully document these cuts.

Traditionally, solder resist is green - a color that dates back to the days of manual assembly: It is easy on the eyes and facilitates visual inspection. Today, alternative colors are also available - to match your design specifications or individual product requirement

The final surface or position printing includes the work steps for coating the exposed copper surfaces to ensure optimum soldering.

The placement print has no electrical relevance and serves as a guide for placement and customer-specific identifiers. The standard colors are white and yellow, as these are clearly visible on the typical green solder resist. The process for placement printing is usually implemented using a screen printing process.

With position printing using the screen printing process, i.e. the application of component markings to printed circuit boards, the process begins with the creation of a film that contains the subsequent printed image. This film is transferred to a fine-mesh screen that has previously been coated with a light-sensitive layer. Exposure to UV light creates a printing stencil through which a special, usually white or yellow ink is then applied to the printed circuit board. The screen is positioned precisely over the PCB and the ink is pressed through the open areas with a squeegee. The ink is then cured in the oven. Finally, a visual inspection is carried out to ensure that all markings have been applied legibly and correctly.

The electrical test can be carried out in two ways, adapter test or finger tester.

Depending on requirements, finger test systems or adapter tests are used - always based on the tested netlist. This gives you maximum safety and functionality - board by board.

A high-voltage test is carried out in-house, but only on express request.

In the finger tester, the netlists are created based on the layout information. These netlists are checked for open points, short circuits and conductivity.

In the adapter test, adapter plates are drilled and contact pins are mounted between the plates. The contact pins scan the PCB contacts according to the created netlists and check the PCBs for functionality.

On completion of all production steps, the PCBs are removed from the production panel - a process that must be carried out with the utmost precision to ensure functionality and dimensional accuracy. Depending on the requirements, three common processes are used: punching, scribing and milling - or a combination of these methods.

• Punching offers a high cycle output and is ideal for large series. The disadvantage lies in the tool costs, but these are quickly amortized with high quantities.
• Scoring is particularly suitable for small PCBs without spacing, as the usable area can be fully utilized.
• Milling delivers maximum precision for complex contours, but is more time-consuming and cost-intensive.

Before your printed circuit boards leave the production facilities, they are carefully checked by EVYTRA inspectors for scratches, dimensional accuracy and coating quality - so that you receive a flawless product. PCBs that do not meet our high standards are systematically rejected. We feed valuable materials such as copper, tin and epoxy resin into a controlled recycling process. This is how we combine reliable quality with responsible use of resources - for your products and our environment.

After a successful final inspection, the PCBs are either stored or prepared for shipping. At EVYTRA, our service does not end with production - shipping is also part of our quality standards.

Depending on size and sensitivity, we pack your PCBs in bubble wrap or weld them airtight as standard. Each packaging unit contains only one item and is limited to a maximum of 20 kg (+20%) - for safe handling and protection during transportation.

Our packaging solutions are flexible: classic, product-specific or adapted to your logistics processes. This enables maximum traceability, smooth incoming goods inspections and simple further processing. On request, we can deliver to your warehouse - whether it's a single item or a series batch.
